Twin-Turbo V8: This is the Audi S8 2020, launched as a range-topping variant in the A8 family that was updated two years ago. Looks very promising.

The first thing to know about the new S8 is that it is powered by a 4.0-twin turbocharged V8 engine with no less than 563 hp and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque. This engine is not only powerful but promises reasonable efficiency because it combines Mild Hybrid technology with a 48 volt system that includes a stop-start function.

All S8 grunts are sent to the sidewalk through the Quattro all-wheel drive system with differential sports. There is also an all-wheel steering system as a standard for increasing maneuverability at slow speeds and providing greater stability at higher speeds. If desired by customers, a set of carbon ceramic brakes are available with 16.5-inch discs at the front and 14.6 inches at the rear.

While the Audi S8 is the fastest model in the S8 family, the company has not made it without compromise in any way and installed a predictive active suspension as standard. This system limits the body roll during hard turns of only 2.5 degrees and in comfort mode, allowing up to 5 degrees of body roll. Audi suspension technology can also raise and lower each wheel independently to provide the smoothest possible trip. The front facing camera is also used to detect holes and adjust the suspension pre-emptively.

The exterior design of the S8 fits the Audi S-badged model and has a slightly more sporty nose, different wheels, unique badging, and quad tailpipes.

Inside, you will find a matte aluminum trim next to a diamond-stitched chair with embroidered S badge. There is also a top inlay in the cabin made of Carbon Vector and like some other Audi models, touch screens for infotainment systems, touch screens for climate control functions, and Audi Virtual Cockpit digital measuring clusters are all displayed.

Audi has not released details of prices or availability for S8 to be sent to the United States.
